I had to be born in a land that was claimed.
By those who owned nothing but took without shame.
I had to be raised by a man and a woman.
Who saw me as a child and not an equal human.
I had to be judged by those who knew little.
As they seeked for wisdom pushing a camel through a nidle.
I had to meet those who had to meet me.
Different versions of my self, waves in my own sea.
I had to become who I have come to be today.
Even though I may be changing, my heart remains the same.
I had to die and let go of the life I chose.
For all I have lived has been a journey with a cause.
I had to reach the end to realize it is endless.
The universe I am part of is infinite and restless.
I had to be reborn to remember what I forgot.
And off I travel from life to life, in a quest to remember God.
